Artist Bio: Emma Jowdy is a photographer who specializes in storytelling and documentary work. Her aim, whether working on personal projects or for clients, is to tell a story through her photos visually. With a background in psychology, her interest in human emotions and behaviors inspires her work. Her contributions to "The Mediterranean Lifestyle Magazine" and "Al Rawyia Magazine" are driven by a desire to share important narratives and stories. Emma ensures each project conveys a valuable story, whether it’s shedding light on and challenging stereotypes of the Mediterranean area, or advocating for women's rights and freedom of expression through art. When not working with clients, Emma focuses on documenting her travel journeys and sharing stories of the people she meets along the way. One of her next projects will center on shedding light on the Middle East, particularly Lebanon, to raise awareness of its beauty and hospitality, often overlooked in mainstream news coverage.
Artist Statement: Since the start of my photographic journey, I've always been driven to share stories and to document the world around me as I see and live it. Having a camera in my hands is how I've always made sense of the people, places, and spaces around me. My goal in my photographic work is to share different cultures, travel, and people's stories, as we've come to judge these things quickly. Looking ahead, I want to shed light on these topics and hope to inspire people to go out, explore, and take the time to know and understand one another through my personal projects. Currently, I am working on two upcoming projects, 'Different Time Zones' and 'My Lebanon', both of which will reflect and showcase two very different cultures.
