Influences in her work are inspired from studying shape, form and textures of her everyday surroundings. Laura has been deeply influenced by residing and traveling to diverse locations and is inspired to incorporate her memories of various architectures, structures, land forms, sounds, tastes and natural inspirations. Her compositions are very distinctive for their textured layers of acrylic and oil paint, chalk, spray paint, paper , fabric and various other mediums. “When I begin the process I let the paint and the canvas speak as the brush begins to write it’s own melody. It is a completely spontaneous and organic process where I allow my inner flow to form the painting’s meaning and direct its own destiny. I create not to be seen as an awarded artist, but rather as an artist that can exude pure and real emotion from it’s viewer. I hope my pieces invoke passion from the viewer that is contemplative and evocative. My pieces are created to reach inside you and create an engagement with the flow of the texture, color and emotions. I seek to evoke connected emotions. The organic characteristics of my work are fluid and and untamed. I strive to show the unfinished feelings of life and its eternal untied ends.”
